I can’t pin down Spike’s politics, and I’m loving it.
Note: The script has two, and only two, random mentions of real people (i.e. not characters in the film): Donald Trump and R. Kelly. It’s always a bit weird hearing a remark about a current, relevant figure in a film from the past—happens all the time with Trump—but this one has both him and R. Kelly. Oh, there’s also mention of Michael Cohen, Elon Musk, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Question: Is Spike religious? Does he have a religious background?
Edit:
I quite liked the screenplay of 25th Hour, so I looked up the writer... wow, this guy has had a weird filmography. Looking at Letterboxd, you get the impression that his career post-25th-Hour has been a mess with films like Troy, Stay, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and the American remake of Brothers. But then you google him, and it turns out he’s the main showrunner of Game of Thrones. Hmmmmmmmm
Edit 2:
Produced by Tobey Maguire I’m so confused
